DEPRESSED MEN

 So I saw a Subheading that read thus " Nigeria Depressed Men" and i decided to read more on it and write a Piece on it.

The Nigeria Society and the World at large  has successfully made Men that Pours out their Emotion and Worries looks like weakling and Sessies.

An average Nigeria doesn't even think there is Something Called Depression, Probably the State of the Nation plays a big Part in this and every unexpected ending is termed hardship.

Men suffers more from Depression than Women, cause Women are more Open in sharing their Emotions and Worries than Men cause of the aforementioned reason.

A Man when face with a Situation that he Probably needs help has always  been meet with the Misguiding Phrase of BE A MAN like he was something different from that initially, statistically speaking Nigeria is the 30th most suicidal prone country in the World and Men has been spearheading this and to our own detriment most of the suicidal happenings as a result of depression has been termed spiritual, Everything going on in a Man’s mind, the struggles of a Common Man, living in a highly stressful and toxic Communities where the government cares little or not about his Citizens has been termed Spiritual and swept under the Rock.

With Men, is Mental Health a very sensitive topic Kudos to the Stigmatisation from the Society and the funnily unfunny Situation in Nigeria, once the topic of Mental health comes up, it is always Pictured and likened to a derailed Mad Man running around in the Street. We never picture a Boss at Work, A Man who just lost someone dear to him, We never picture Someone who always have a smiling Face, We don’t Picture that Man who is always cheerful and giving out help when needed.

We need to do More, The Society have to help Man ease this burden. The Man Figure needs help. A man doesn’t show his Tears but weep Profusely in secret.

Dear Men it is Okay to Cry, It is Okay to feel vulnerable sometimes and seriously anyone who have a Problem with you showing your humanity or being in tune with your Emotion has no Place in your Life.

It only get better when we come to Term that being a Man is not a Death Offence. It means you direct, with help thus comes division of labour and Problem is solved.

God bless every Man out there giving his all, unrelentlessly We are getting better and Stronger 💪 

And We can do this.
